Executive Producer/Author

Published writings on Asian art and art scene by the writer, Patricia Chen, can be found at www.patchenlaw.wordpress.com

Patricia Chen is columnist of Asian Insider , a column on the Asian art scene in Flash Art, who has also contributed to The Art Newspaper, Financial Times and Art Market Report. Patricia was introduced to the Southeast Asian art world through her column in C-Arts, “Collectors’ Guide to the Southeast Asian art market“ in 2009. She created Southeast Asia’s first modern and contemporary art indices and is a familiar face in the art scene, as a writer, moderator and researcher-presenter of new content bridging art and business, that aims to bring transparency into the art market. Patricia has been awarded grants for script development by the Singapore Film Commission for 2 documentary short films on Asian art collecting and collectors and has been taking classes on screenwriting, film editing and documentary crafting in preparation for the film projects.

Patricia’s foray into the world of visual arts started with her involvement as General Manager of Sculpture Square, a contemporary art space in Singapore. There, she was perhaps best remembered for starting arts circle gatherings through Square Fridays and her efforts in debuting cutting-edge art-education initiatives that attracted 6,000 children from schools and the community. Patricia graduated summa cum laude from the Sotheby’s Institute of Art with a Master’s degree (Distinction) in Art Business.
